SRAM's 1x Eagle component system boasts a twelve-speed cassette. We built pulleys that can handle the load better than stock. These CeramicSpeed Pulley Wheels work with less drag, adding to the power transmitted to the rear wheel while offering greater durability, going longer between replacement intervals. These pulleys are also fully compatible with the SRAM Eagle AXS derailleur. The aluminum pulleys with standard bearings are 34.4% more efficient than stock and use our low-drag, long-life Standard Bearing with hardened-steel races and our super-round CeramicSpeed balls. The upper and lower pulleys both have a narrow-wide tooth design with 14 teeth each. As the upper and lower pulleys have different tasks, they have different shapes. You'll find they are thus marked, and have directional arrows. These pulleys should be installed with stock SRAM pulley spacers. Save those from your old pulleys before installing CeramicSpeed. The kits come with CeramicSpeed Oil in a 15ml dropper bottle and grease in 5ml syringe. The bearings come pre-oiled. The grease can be used on the pulley bearings when riding in particularly harsh environments. Developed and designed entirely by CeramicSpeed, the Oversized Pulley Wheel (OSPW) System for Shimano 9000/6800 provides the ultimate optimization of your bicycle's drivetrain. This OSPW System features a set of 17-tooth aluminum Pulley Wheels housed in a specially designed polyamide (PA) and carbon cage. The upper and lower 17-tooth oversized aluminum pulley wheels come fitted with either standard or coated CeramicSpeed Bearings. The Oversized Pulley Wheel (OSPW) System is the product of choice by many of the world's leading cycling teams and triathletes. This specific system is compatible with Ultegra 6700/6770/6800/6870 mechanical and Di2 rear derailleurs and Dura Ace 7900/7970/9000/9070 mechanical and Di2 rear derailleurs. It is not compatible with Shimano Dura-Ace 9100/9150 and Ultegra 8000 series rear derailleurs. For those rear derailleurs you will need a OSPW System for Shimano 9100 series. The system is compatible with up to a 28-tooth cassette on most bikes, depending on derailleur hanger. The typical overall power savings of the OSPW System for Shimano 9000/6800 is 30%-60% over a stock setup, and the oversized pulley wheels have a lifespan that is 3-5 times longer than the commonly used standard pulleys on the market. The 12mm slotted MDS dropout is the newest chip for Surly's MDS equipped trail frames. You like chips, don't you? The 12mm slotted dropout chip uses a standard derailleur mount for maximum compatibility and is made of cast and machined 6061-T6 aluminum, with a fender eyelet. What's the coolest part about the 12mm slotted MDS chip, you ask? The fact that it also has the capability to run a 12 x 142mm thru-axle in a single speed configuration. This is good news because single speeds are good news. When you get an MDS equipped frame you're getting the option to set it up however you want. You can run a 142 x 12mm thru-axle rear end with a direct mount Shimano hanger, standard 135mm QR or The Mighty Singlespeed. The way this will work is that Surly complete bikes that feature the MDS will ship with whatever chip is compatible with derailleur spec. For instance, the complete Instigator 2.0 ships with the 142 x 12mm thru-axle Shimano chip. If you want to change it to a singlespeed later (and why wouldn't you?), all you have to do is get the SS chip. Frames will ship with all three MDS chips so pick your poison. The 142 x 12mm and 135mm QR chips are made of cast and machined 6061-T6 aluminum and The Mighty Singlespeed chip is 304 stainless steel, because the two words 'aluminum' and 'singlespeed' should never be too close to each other. Bad things can happen…. As you can see, the MDS gives you not just different build options, it lets you use a more varied selection of parts for your frame up builds. The MDS is featured on most of our trail bikes. That's right: Krampus Ops, Karate Monkey Ops, Instigator 2.0 and Ice Cream Truck frames all sport these puppies.
